What is Fantom?

FANTOM is a new DAG based Smart Contract platform that intends to solve the scalability issues of existing public distributed ledger technologies. Fantom Technology Overview

Fantom is an EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain using its Lachesis DAG-based asynchronous Byzantine Fault Tolerant (aBFT) consensus. Unlike traditional BFT systems, Lachesis achieves consensus asynchronously without a synchronous leader election, enabling sub-second transaction finality (~1 second) and high throughput with low fees.
