Kaspa implements the GHOSTDAG (Greedy Heaviest-Observed Sub-Tree DAG) protocol, which organizes the blockchain as a directed acyclic graph (DAG) rather than a linear chain. Unlike Bitcoin where parallel-mined blocks are orphaned, Kaspa's BlockDAG incorporates all valid blocks, enabling extremely high block rates (32 blocks per second) with one-second confirmation times while maintaining Proof of Work security. The result is a PoW blockchain with near-real-time settlement. Kaspa is a fully community-driven project with no pre-mine, no ICO, and no pre-allocation.
