Ascending Triangle
A flat upper boundary with a rising lower boundary, so the range narrows from below. It completes when price closes above the flat resistance line.
Usually described as buyers becoming steadily more willing to pay while a fixed block of supply sits at one price. That story is plausible and unfalsifiable; what can be checked is whether the shape is followed by the move it is said to predict, which is what the record below measures. Note that the shape is defined by a horizontal line and a sloping one, and a line fitted to three or four points will look convincing on almost any chart — the detector requires a coefficient of determination above a set threshold before it will call one, and that figure is shown on every card as shape fit.
