Bullish Harami
A small rising candle whose body sits entirely inside the body of the previous, larger falling candle.
The reverse containment of an engulfing pattern: the decline was large, and the period that followed did almost nothing. Read as selling that ran out of participants rather than as buying that arrived — a distinction that matters, because it predicts a pause more naturally than a reversal.
What a bullish harami has actually done
Every occurrence we hold, scored on whether price moved more than 0.5% in the pattern’s own direction within three candles.
| Timeframe | Occurrences | Reached target | Baseline | Edge |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4H · crypto | 1,285 | 42.6% | 33.6% | +9.0pp |
| 1H · crypto | 1,025 | 36.4% | 22.3% | +14.1pp |
| 1D · crypto | 814 | 45.6% | 39.4% | +6.2pp |
Baseline is the share of ordinary candles that passed the same test over the same period, same timeframe and same direction. A rate at or below it means the shape added nothing. Edge is the difference between the two. This is a record of what followed, not a forecast.
