Gas Fee
The payment made to a blockchain's validators for the computation and storage a transaction consumes, priced in the network's native token.
Gas is charged for the attempt, not the result: a transaction that reverts still costs the fee. Fees also scale with congestion rather than with transaction value, which makes small transfers uneconomic at exactly the times the network is busiest.
