MACD
Moving Average Convergence Divergence: the difference between two exponential moving averages, plotted with a signal line. Crossings of the two lines are read as momentum shifts.
MACD is a derivative of moving averages, so it inherits their lag. Its more useful reading is divergence — price making a new high while MACD does not — rather than the raw line crossings, which fire constantly in a ranging market.
