Support and Resistance
Price levels at which buying has previously halted declines (support) or selling has halted advances (resistance), often revisited because other participants watch the same levels.
These levels are partly self-fulfilling: they work to the extent that enough people act on them. That also makes them fragile — a level that everyone can see is a level that can be deliberately pushed through.
