Trading Pair
Two assets quoted against each other on an exchange, such as BTC/USDT. The first is the base asset being priced; the second is the quote asset it is priced in.
The same coin can trade at slightly different prices across pairs and venues. Number of pairs is a rough proxy for how well distributed a token is — a coin on one pair at one exchange has a single point of failure for its price.
