Someone holds the authority to create new tokens after launch.
Why a contract might have it
Ordinary for a staking reward, a bridge, a stablecoin backing redemptions, or any supply that was never meant to be fixed.
When it matters
It matters when the supply is advertised as capped. A fixed supply and a live mint authority are a contradiction the contract will settle, not the marketing.
